This is a Filipino traditional recipe, and a Santos family staple. Its a great example of finger food that you can’t stop eating! First you’ll put 3 on your plate, then 4 or 5 on the next run, and before you know it, it’ll all be gone!
Ingredients
- 1 Package of Lumpia Wrappers
- 1 lb Ground Pork
- 1 lb Raw Shrimp
- 2 Carrots
- 2 Stalks of Celery
- 1 tbsp Mrs. Dash
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- 2 Eggs
- 1 tbsp Garlic
- Vegetable Oil
Directions:
- Chop the celery and carrots
- Put the shrimp in a food processor along with the chopped celery and carrots, and process
- In a large bowl mix, shrimp mixture, ground pork, Mrs. Dash, salt, pepper, eggs, and garlic
- Separate the lumpia wrappers, and place the stuffing on the wrappers, roll it up, and seal it with water
- Freeze for 4-6 hours before frying
- In a large pot, pour vegetable oil, and turn the heat on high. Test for readiness with a piece of lumpia: placing it in the oil should produce bubbles
- Fry the lumpia until golden brown and place the finished product on a paper towel covered plate to strain.
